On the Increase in Use of GLP-1s
GLP-1 agonists, which include Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy, are already FDA-approved for type-2 diabetes, weight loss, and heart disease. Research shows a 40-fold increase in these drugs from 2017 to 2021, estimating that roughly 2-3% of the United States is now on either Ozempic or Mounjaro. "Doctors must be conscious of these facts, and patients must be educated."
